Job summary

Tract is seeking a Real Estate Assistant Corporate Counsel who will report to the General Counsel in the legal department. This highly visible role involves frontline work across the organization on large, national land acquisition transactions.

Responsibilities include evaluating acquisitions and sales, drafting and negotiating contracts, managing due diligence, title and survey reviews, and coordinating across real estate, entitlement, development and construction teams.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school; admitted to and in good standing with a state bar.
• 5–8+ years of in-depth real estate and transactional knowledge for commercial real estate acquisitions and development; preferably in a law firm.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating land acquisitions and sales; structuring land transactions; managing acquisition and sales; working entitlement, development and construction processes; and handling corporate, infrastructure, vendor and regulatory matters.
• Identifying and mitigating legal risks; communicating guidance to team members on real estate matters.
• Drafting, negotiating and preparing contracts for land acquisitions, sales, entitlements, development and construction; managing outside counsel for local and regulatory issues.
