Job summary

Tract is seeking a Real Estate Assistant Corporate Counsel to report to the General Counsel in the legal department. The role is highly visible, involving frontline work across the organization and nationwide in large land acquisition transactions.

The successful candidate will handle complex commercial real estate transactions, due diligence, title and survey work, and contract drafting, with travel to market sites as needed. A JD and state bar admission are required.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school and bar admission.
• 5–8+ years in-depth real estate and transactional law.
• Experience with land use, development, construction, corporate governance, and complex contracts.
• Experience in real estate finance or REITs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate land acquisitions and sales; structure transactions; manage processes across entitlement, development and construction.
• Identify legal issues and provide business recommendations to the team on real estate matters.
• Manage due diligence, title and survey review; negotiate with buyers, sellers, and governmental entities.
• Draft, negotiate and prepare contracts across land acquisitions, sales, entitlements, development, construction, infrastructure, procurement and complex contracts.
• Manage outside counsel for local and regulatory issues; collaborate in a matrixed environment.
