NextStep Recruiting represents a premier Commercial Real Estate Developer / Hospitality Organization in Uptown Dallas seeking an experienced Controller to lead accounting for CRE development and property management. The role requires 7+ years of progressive accounting leadership, experience with self-managed properties and 3rd party firms; CPA or advanced degree is a plus.

Job description

Controller. Commercial Real Estate Controller. NextStep Recruiting is working with a fantastic Commercial Real Estate Developer / Hospitality Industry Organization in the Uptown Dallas area that is looking to hire an experienced Controller to join their team.

Candidates should have:

• A bachelor’s in accounting or a similar field. Advanced degree and/or certifications a plus
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience and accounting leadership experience in a Commercial Real Estate Development and Management organization.
• Experience working with self-managed properties as well as 3rd party accounting firms
• Corporate accounting experience with consolidations, eliminations, etc. Strong experience with improving processes and automation

Our client is a fantastic place to work with an awesome boss/mentor to work with. This role is four days onsite with one day remote, so a commute to the Uptown area of Dallas must be attractive. A strong base salary (target of $155k – $165k; client will be flexible DOE), annual bonus potential (15%), benefits, PTO, 401 (k) match, etc., are all offered along with a great work environment/culture.
