Job summary

Job description

Growing general practice law firm with a very large concentration of its practice focused on residential real estate conveyancing is seeking a full‑time associate. Prior legal experience handling real estate closings in Massachusetts is strongly preferred, however, transferable experience in other nearby states will be considered. An existing book of business and/or relationships with loan officers and realtors while not required, will be viewed favorably. Additional prior experience with commercial transactions, or Estate Planning, or a second language, while also not required, will be considered a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Drafting and negotiating documents related to Real Estate Closings including but not limited to: Purchase & Sale Agreements, Riders, Use & Occupancy Agreements, Holdback Agreements and other customary closing documents;
  • In concert with other attorneys, reviewing title exams as they come in and notifying Seller’s counsel of title curative documents required in order to close;
  • Conducting and covering closings with firm clients;
  • Reviewing Deeds, POAs, 6D Certificates and other customary closing documents
Qualifications

The successful candidate must be intrinsically motivated and have a high attention to detail; be able to dutifully manage files in a deadline‑oriented, high‑volume, atmosphere; engage in significant client and vendor contact over email; and responsibly represent the firm while interfacing with attorneys and fellow staff.
