Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a motivated Associate to join its Investments team, focusing on sourcing, underwriting, and executing real estate investments across asset classes. The role collaborates with senior professionals to evaluate opportunities and manage the deal lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of experience in real estate acquisitions or related fields, with strong financial modeling skills (Excel; Argus preferred) and a solid grasp of IRR, equity multiples, and DCF concepts.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years in real estate acquisitions or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, economics, or related discipline.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; Argus preferred.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a deep understanding of real estate valuation metrics (IRR, equity multiple, DCF, NOI).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel for property tours, market research, and due diligence.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the identification and evaluation of new real estate investment opportunities.
• Leading financial underwriting and due diligence processes for potential acquisitions.
• Preparing detailed investment memoranda and participating in Investment Committee presentations.
• Building and maintaining complex financial models to evaluate investment returns and capital structures.
• Conducting in-depth market research to support investment theses and identify trends.
• Coordinating with legal, financing, and third-party consultants to facilitate transaction closings.
• Tracking and managing the deal pipeline, including updates on status, milestones, and investment metrics.
• Providing strategic recommendations on acquisition pricing, structuring, and risk assessment.
