Job summary

Knife River Northwest is seeking a Ready-Mix General Manager to provide strategic leadership for our concrete production and fleet operations in the Oregon region. You will lead cross-functional teams across operations, safety, and sales to drive profitability and service excellence.

The role requires a proven track record in construction materials, strong P&L oversight, and the ability to navigate regulatory requirements while promoting safety and innovation.

• Proven leadership in construction materials or related industry.
• P&L management experience.
• Experience with concrete production, fleet operations, and maintenance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead teams in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of Ready-Mix operations, fleet, maintenance, and concrete production activities.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including MSHA, OSHA, EPA, and environmental requirements.
• Manage capital improvement projects, including budgeting, planning, execution, and ROI analysis.
• Lead and develop operations, sales, and support teams to achieve safety, service, quality, and profitability objectives in Metro and Willamette Valley Divisions.
• Research, evaluate, and implement innovative products, technologies, and processes to improve safety and efficiency, including carbon reduction initiatives.
• Communicate effectively and foster positive working relationships in high-pressure situations.
• Evaluate and resolve operational challenges related to materials, production, quality, equipment performance, and customer service.
• Manage employee relations professionally while supporting workforce engagement and retention.
