Job summary

SRM Concrete in Indianapolis is seeking a Quality Control Technician to help ensure our ready-mix concrete meets top industry standards. Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply—on-the-job training is provided.

ACI certification is a plus, and a relevant degree is preferred but not required. You will perform material testing, interpret results, conduct inspections, and collaborate with production to resolve quality issues.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work variable shifts including day and overnight pours.
• On-the-job training available for newcomers to QC or concrete industry.
• ACI certification, or willingness to obtain it, is a plus.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Concrete Management or Construction Management preferred but not required.
• Experience in QC/QA or construction materials is a plus but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office); QC software experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine testing of raw materials, in-process, and finished concrete using industry-standard methods.
• Interpret test results and compare them to specifications and control limits.
• Conduct visual inspections of concrete products to ensure quality standards.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to troubleshoot quality issues.
• Deliver quality control training to production staff as directed by management or technical services.
• Maintain accurate records of tests, analyses, and quality activities.
• Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and regulations to improve QC processes.
