Job summary

Parchment School District is seeking an Aide to provide academic support for identified at-risk students during Intervention/Enrichment periods. The role involves small-group and one-on-one tutoring under teacher guidance, assisting with reading, writing and math instruction, and maintaining progress records.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 60 college credits or associate degree or equivalent, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 60 college credit hours / associate degree or higher / state assessment standard.
• Knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics instruction.
• Knowledge of reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness.
• Previous experience with children in an educational setting is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Patience, empathy and desire to help students succeed.
• Basic proficiency with technology and education software.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in delivering instructional support to students in reading and/or mathematics.
• Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to students needing additional help.
• Help prepare instructional materials and resources for classroom activities.
• Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
• Create a welcoming and supportive classroom environment.
• Support students in developing social skills and positive behavior.
• Participate in professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to meet diverse student needs.
