Job summary

Hopkins Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional/ Highly Qualified Paraprofessional at Glen Lake Elementary to provide intervention in reading, math, and writing, support students, and monitor progress within an inclusive classroom setting.

Two years of post-secondary education or a passing ParaPro score plus one year of curriculum support experience are required, along with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Works with students individually or in small groups in and out of regular classrooms under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
• Reinforces the instructional plan laid out by the classroom teacher.
• Provides instructional assistance and motivate students in the areas of math, reading, and language.
• Plans and prepares study aids such as flash cards and worksheets.
• Assists teacher with classroom activities; leads breakout sessions.
• Manages student behavior in small groups to create a safe, positive learning environment.
• Monitors and reports progress of individual students to teachers.
