Job summary

Hopkins Public Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to provide one-on-one and small group support to special education students with academic and emotional behavioral needs, including instructional support and behavior management.

You will reinforce learning, observe and document student progress, assist with de-escalation and behavior plans, and communicate with licensed staff to support programming. Salary is Step-1 at $25.45 per hour, with district benefits as posted.

Qualifications

• Two years post-secondary education or a passing ParaPro Score.
• One year experience working with children.
• Driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist certified staff in developing strategies based on student needs.
• Supervise students in classrooms, lunchrooms, field trips, and buses.
• Observe and document students' academic and social behaviors.
• Communicate progress with mainstream and special education staff.
• Implement curriculum modifications to support access to material.
• Collect and chart data on student goals and behaviors.
