Montgomery County Public Schools seeks an Immediate: Teacher, Reading Intervention at Clopper Mill ES, 0.5 FTE to deliver a balanced literacy program and targeted small-group instruction for primary students. The candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in early childhood, elementary, or reading education and meet Maryland state certification requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of MCPS curriculum and effective instructional practices.
• Ability to infuse technology into curriculum.
• Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide a developmentally appropriate balanced literacy program for primary grade students under the principal's direction.
• Deliver explicit reading instruction and small-group support (15 or fewer students) to ensure success for every student.
• Utilize components of primary reading: guided reading, centers, word work, shared/read aloud, independent reading, modeled/shared/guided writing.
• Supervise students in various school settings and monitor student outcomes.
• Communicate with students, parents, staff and community.
• Develop, select and modify instructional plans and materials for all learners.
• Maintain records and follow procedures and practices; monitor equipment, materials and facilities.
