Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a Reading Teacher to support students as they construct meaning in reading. Under the direction of the principal, you will work with administrators, counselors, teachers, and parents to provide reading services.

You will diagnose strengths and needs using informal and standardized measures and teach basic and developmental reading, while participating in schoolwide reading initiatives and mandatory meetings outside instructional hours as required by

Qualifications

• Master's degree in reading.
• Advanced Professional Certificate.
• Maryland reading specialist certification.
• Three years teaching or clinical experience.

Responsabilités

• The reading teacher supports students as they construct meaning in reading.
• Under the direction of the principal, the reading teacher provides services to administrators, counselors, teachers, and parents.
• The reading teacher uses both informal and standardized measures to diagnose the strengths and needs of individual students and/or groups of students.
• The reading teacher teaches basic and developmental reading.
• Required to attend school meetings, programs and activities outside the instructional day as mandated by the MCEA agreement.
