Job summary

Piedmont Elementary in Piedmont, Oklahoma seeks a Reading Support teacher for the 2026-27 year to provide targeted reading instruction and support for students meeting eligibility.

The role reports to the site principal or assistant principal and requires credentials as required by the State of Oklahoma, with collaboration across district leadership and reading support teams to implement the Strong Readers Act and literacy plans.

Qualifications

• Credentials as required by the State of Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with district leadership, building administration and reading support team to discuss and coordinate in regards to Strong Readers Law, student needs, district-wide programs, resources and the district SRA Plan.
• Inform/update principals, teachers and staff of changes made to Site SRA Plan and legislation.
• Assist principal in ensuring compliance with the Strong Readers Act requirements.
• Maintain accurate Strong Readers Act, Student Literacy Intervention Plan, and Response to Intervention records.
• Coordinate the communication of student progress through report cards, parent/teacher conferences, and other means of communication.
• Provide targeted reading instruction to students qualifying based on state and district assessments.
• Collaborate with building administrators to provide professional development for teachers.
• Serve as a resource for the teachers and parents.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Abide by all district, federal and state laws, policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
