Qualifications

• Requires Alabama Professional Educator Certificate in Early Childhood, Elementary Education or Special Education Collaborative.
• Master's degree and LETRS Mastery status in LETRS EC and/or LETRS K-12.
• Three years of successful teaching of reading or related content areas.
• Experience with dyslexia-specific intervention programs as a classroom or reading intervention teacher.
• Organize and present workshops and seminars.
• Effective communication and planning are required.

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers with improving reading instruction by modeling lessons and strategies.
• Administers and interprets formal/informal inventories and assessments.
• Conducts small group sessions for students identified for intervention.
• Contributes to School Improvement and Title I planning at the school level.
• Establish objectives and plan learning experiences.
• Implement activities to meet objectives with diverse instructional methods.
• Maintain records and submit reports.
• Adheres to school board policies and state/federal rules.
• Coordinate parent activities focused on academic improvement.
• Stay current with new ideas and exemplary practices.
• Pursue personal professional growth and ethics.
