Job summary

Des Plaines Public Library in Des Plaines, IL is seeking a part-time staff member who loves books and helping people. You will assist patrons with the library's fiction, film, games, and music collections and teach patrons how to download materials, stream media, and use devices. You will connect with a diverse population from teens to seniors.

Evenings and weekends are required; a valid driver’s license and relevant experience are a plus. Salary is hourly with benefits.

Job description

Schedule: Tuesday 9-6, Friday 12-9, every other Saturday 8:30-5.

you! Are you fluent in our popular collections: fiction, film, games, and music? Are you

familiar with popular technology, such as downloading materials on devices, streaming

movies and music, and able to teach this to our patrons? Can you connect with a diverse

population of patrons aged teens through seniors?

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and one year customer service experience OR two years college and three years library or bookstore experience
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Available to work evenings and weekends

Salary range is $19.20 to $23.25 per hour (depending on qualifications) with vacation time and IMRF retirement benefits.
