Job summary

The Huntington is seeking a Reader Services Coordinator to support daily Reader Services operations, include on-desk registration, orientation, and equitable access to library services. You will guide readers, collaborate with staff, and help navigate policies, systems, and resources in a welcoming, inclusive manner.

Responsibilities cover interlibrary loan, staff training, systems support, and daily administration.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of relevant customer service, library, administrative, clerical, or related experience.
• Experience in a library, archives, museum, academic, research, or cultural-heritage environment preferred.
• Familiarity with HTML/web-content editing, version-control workflows, and library systems (Aeon, OCLC WorldShare, LibApps, LibGuides) desired.

Responsibilities

• Provides regular Reader Registration Desk coverage, typically at least one shift each workday and up to 20 hours per week.
• Coordinates reader registration and orientation services, including appointments, applications and renewals, library cards, and reader accounts.
• Responds to inquiries regarding library access, policies, services, spaces, and research resources; provides introductory research assistance and referrals.
• Supports onboarding and continuing library needs of Research Fellows and escalates complex issues as appropriate.
• Supports staff at Library reading room service desks and may cover Rothenberg General Collections Reading Room up to four hours weekly.
• Maintains Reader Services calendars, procedures, and service documentation; compiles service statistics and coordinates office supplies.
• Prepares Reader Services newsletters and maintains reader-facing information across LibGuides, Aeon, LibCal, signage, and other platforms.
• Participates in onboarding and training staff, troubleshoots routine issues involving reader accounts, Aeon, Cardea, LibApps, printers, and badging equipment.
• Participates in tours, programs, system updates, testing, and process improvements; provides backup support for essential Library services.
