Luma Education Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Educational Support Worker to join a sports-based SEMH provision in Shrewsbury. The role focuses on mentoring and supporting secondary-age students through physical, emotional and social activities, with no teaching background required.
Working Tuesdays, 9:00am–3:00pm during term time, you will help students build confidence, teamwork and emotional regulation, staying calm when behaviour is challenging and following safeguarding procedures.

Are you a sports coach, personal trainer, youth worker or mentor who is great with young people? Luma Education Recruitment is looking for an Educational Support Worker to join a sports-based alternative provision near Shrewsbury. You don't need a teaching background. Your people skills matter most.
The provision works with secondary-age young people referred by their schools for behaviour respite, emotionally based school avoidance or mental health support. It has 22 students on roll, with up to 8–10 on site each day.
Instead of classrooms, students rotate through fitness training, boxing and sport, emotional intelligence sessions, and team-building and social skills activities. The site also has a forest school area, a fire pit and an art and mentoring space. Everything is built on a nurturing, restorative approach rather than sanctions.
