Job summary

Woodlands Nursery School is seeking a confident Toddler Room Lead to guide our toddler room for children aged 2–3 years. You will lead a small team, ensuring engaging, safe, and child-centered learning in a nurturing outdoor-inspired environment.

The ideal candidate has strong EYFS knowledge, a passion for child-led learning, and the ability to observe and document children's progress while collaborating with families and professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and leading a small team.
• Strong understanding of child development.
• Passion for child-led learning and outdoor play.
• Ability to observe, assess and monitor children's progress.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day running of the toddler room, ensuring high standards of care, learning and wellbeing.
• Plan and deliver child-led learning experiences in line with the EYFS, making the most of our outdoor environment.
• Observe, assess and monitor children's progress, ensuring records and learning journeys are accurate and meaningful.
• Support children with their individual needs, working closely with families and professionals where appropriate.
• Build positive, professional relationships with parents and carers, sharing information about children's development and wellbeing.
• Lead, motivate and support room staff, acting as a positive role model and promoting good practice throughout the team.
• Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies are followed at all times.
• Contribute to creating an environment where children feel secure, valued and inspired to learn.
• Support the Nursery Management Team in maintaining high standards across the setting and contributing to continuous improvement.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and passionate Toddler Room Lead to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident Early Years professional to lead our toddler room, creating an engaging, stimulating and caring environment for children aged 2–3 years.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of child development, experience working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and the confidence to lead a small team while maintaining high standards of care and education.
