Job summary

Lightbridge Academy in Paramus, NJ is seeking a passionate Lead Teacher for our Toddler and Infant Rooms. You will create developmentally appropriate lesson plans, manage daily activities, and build strong relationships with children and their families to support early development.

You will promote safety, implement engaging literacy and learning activities, and collaborate with a supportive team to provide consistent, high-quality care that inspires curious, confident learners.

Qualifications

  • Experience in classroom or childcare with infants/toddlers.
  • Strong knowledge of child development and early education methods.
  • Experience developing curricula for early learners.
  • Familiar with behavior management and classroom management.
  • Excellent communication for parent engagement and teamwork.
  • First aid and CPR certification required; additional certifications a plus.
  • Knowledge of mandated reporting laws for child welfare.
  • Ability to plan engaging lessons including literacy, math, physical activity, and SEL.
  • Experience in preschool or daycare; private school experience advantageous.
  • Passion for nurturing growth through innovative teaching.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns
  • Collaborate with team members to plan lessons, assess developmental progress, and adapt teaching methods as needed
  • Maintain compliance with mandated reporting laws and ensure all safety protocols are followed diligently
  • Incorporate early intervention techniques and literacy education strategies to support diverse learning needs
  • Conduct classroom assessments using standardized testing tools when appropriate to monitor developmental benchmarks
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, special education, physical education, and childcare best practices
Qualifications
  • Prior experience working with children in a classroom or childcare setting, preferably with infants and toddlers
  • Strong knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education methodologies
  • Experience developing curriculum tailored to early learners’ needs
  • Familiarity with behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies
  • Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration
  • Certification in first aid and CPR required; additional certifications in special education or early intervention are a plus
  • Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy, math, physical activity, and social-emotional learning
  • Experience working in preschool or daycare environments; private school experience is advantageous
