Job summary

UKCIL is seeking a dedicated personal assistant to support a male aged 8 who lives in Ushaw Moor, with autism and learning difficulties. The role involves providing personal care and enabling access to the local community and activities aligned with the child’s interests, on a 2:1 basis.

Hours are 5 per week term time and 10 hours per week in school holidays, paid at £13.50 per hour. A positive, caring attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with special needs is desirable
• Enhanced DBS required (employer covers cost)
• Car access and driving licence preferred

PA required to support male aged 8 who lives in Ushaw Moor

PA required to support male aged 8 who lives in Ushaw Moor who has autism, learning difficulties and is none verbal.The assistant will be required to support on a 2:1 basis to enable the child to access the local community and activities linked to the child’s interests.The assistant will also be responsible for the child’s intimate care needs.

Hours / wage5 hours per week term time10 hours per week school holidays£13.50 per hourThe child enjoys being outdoors especially long walks in the countryside and enjoys driving in the car too.A positive, caring attitude is essential.Training can be provided.Experience of working with special needs is desirable and would be preferred.Access to a car is desirable and a clean driving licence is preferred.Enhanced DBS will be required, employer will cover the cost.
