Job summary

Purple DPSS is seeking a Personal Assistant (PA)/Support Worker to help JJ, an 11-year-old with autism, participate in daily activities and community trips. The role involves personal care, supervising near roads, and encouraging play and outings in a safe environment.

Location is Huntingdon, PE29, on-site, part-time with flexible hours. DBS check, right to work and references are required. Salary starts at £15 per hour and there is Disability Confident employer scheme support.

• Support JJ in community activities to burn energy, socialise and have fun
• Provide personal care including wiping after toilet, dressing/undressing, washing hands and face, reminders to eat and drink, sun cream application
• Supervise closely due to JJ's limited sense of danger
• Follow simple instructions and maintain safety during outings

Job description

Personal Assistant (PA)/Support Worker-PUR-095-473

JJ is a lovely 11 year old boy who is Autistic and has some but

limited communication. He loves animals, parks, trampolining,

horse riding, swimming, and rollercoasters. He has a dog and

two cats and loves people.

JJ has no sense of danger so needs to be watched at all times.

We hold hands when walking, especially near roads. He gets

excited by cars and will want run towards them. If he gets

overwhelmed he can scratch and pinch himself or others

however this is not happening very often these days as he is

generally a very happy chap when out doing fun things!

Flexible hours - 46 available to be used in the school holidays

paid at £15 per hour.

What you would

Support JJ out into the community to burn off some

energy, socialise eat and have a fun summer outside!

Support will involve an activity to start which will be going to

the park, trampolining, soft play, trip to the farm or something

active followed by lunch at usually Wetherspoons, subway,

Nando’s or McDonalds and if there’s any time left after to play

outside the front of our house with my car.

Generally he does good listening and will wait, hold hands and

follow simple instructions well.

Personal care: JJ needs support with wiping after the toilet

and dressing/ undressing, washing his hands and face,

reminders to eat and drink, have sun cream applied.
