Job summary

X-energy is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and analyze reactor internals, with emphasis on in-core shielding and nuclear safety. You will develop concepts, perform structural and thermal analyses, and generate CAD models for SSCs used in high-temperature gas-cooled reactors.

Qualifications

• Five years of engineering experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Master’s or Ph.D. may substitute for experience as described.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical concepts and SSCs for nuclear products.
• Plan analyses to ensure SSCs meet specs and safety criteria.
• Create CAD models and manage design documentation.
• Support manufacturability, assembly, and integration of reactor internals.
• Coordinate interfaces across multidisciplinary teams.
