RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I

Zurich is currently looking for a RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I to join our Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team. RCIS is one of the leading crop insurance providers in the U.S., offering insurance protection in all 50 states through a national network of about 3,600 licensed agents. Together with RCIS agents, we protect America's farmers and ranchers.

Zurich/RCIS is currently looking for a Crop Adjuster to work out of the state of Ohio. This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week, with approximately 50% travel expected to cover the territory.

The ideal candidate will need to live and service within the following counties in Ohio: Clermont, Brown, Adams.

As a Crop Adjuster, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Completing field inspections and related responsibilities, such as reading maps and aerial photos, measuring fields, storage bins, and discussing findings of crop loss with farmers on complex claims.
2. Conveying complex regulations and interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry personnel.
3. Performing fact-finding regarding crop damage and transmitting loss information to determine potential indemnities.
4. Gathering relevant facts and establishing basic principles of negligence.
5. Completing claim reviews and audits on lower-level adjusters as assigned.
6. Ensuring legal compliance by maintaining a strong working knowledge of regulatory and company policies and procedures.
7. Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating in projects as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more months of experience in the agricultural area.
2. Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be obtained within 180 days of hire date.
3. Reliable personal transportation and ability to travel within the territory.
4. Valid Driver’s License.
5. Physical Requirements: walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet, lift 25 lbs. to 50 lbs., work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
2. Strong organization and prioritization skills.
3. Experience as a Crop Claims Field Adjuster.
