RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I

Zurich is currently looking for a RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I to join our Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team. RCIS is one of the leading crop insurance providers in the U.S. and offers insurance protection in all 50 states through a national network of about 3,600 licensed agents.

This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week, with approximately 50% travel expected to cover the territory. The ideal candidate will need to live and service within the following counties in Ohio: Clermont, Brown, Adams.

Responsibilities:

1. Complete field inspections and related responsibilities such as reading maps and aerial photos, measuring fields, storage bins, and discussing findings of crop loss with farmers on complex claims.
2. Convey complex regulations and interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry professionals.
3. Perform fact-finding regarding crop damage, record information, and transmit loss information to accurately determine potential indemnities.
4. Gather relevant facts, utilizing applicable law and establishing basic principles of negligence.
5. Complete claim reviews and audits on lower-level adjusters as assigned.
6. Ensure legal compliance by maintaining a strong working knowledge of regulatory and company policies and procedures.
7. Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating in projects as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more months of experience in the agricultural area.
2. Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be obtained within 180 days of hire date.
3. Reliable personal transportation and travel within territory.
4. Valid Driver’s License.
5. Physical Requirements: Walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet, lift 25 lbs. to 50 lbs., work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
2. Strong organization and prioritization skills.
3. Experience as a Crop Claims Field Adjuster.
