Job description

RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I

Zurich is currently looking for a RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I to join our Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team. RCIS is one of the leading crop insurance providers in the U.S. Together with RCIS agents, we protect America's farmers and ranchers.

The Crop Adjuster is to work out of the state of Georgia. This incumbent will work from a home-based office. This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week. Approximately 50% travel is expected to cover the territory. The ideal candidate will need to live and service within a 60-mile area of the following counties: Laurens, Dublin and Ware.

With moderate direction, they will investigate, evaluate and conclude complex field inspections by following appropriate regulatory and company rules and procedures to ensure that claims are handled effectively while delivering customer-centric claims service. They will also provide support to Area Claims Managers as a local claims specialist in day-to-day operations and claims management. In addition, the selected candidates will support lower level adjusting staff by providing training and assistance with complex claims.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Exercise judgment to determine liability by gathering and analyzing relevant facts; utilizing applicable procedures.
  • Exercise judgment to determine policy verification and coverage determination by analyzing applicable coverage for claims.
  • Participate in Risk Management Agency initiated reviews and referrals for operational integrity and quality assurance.
  • Protect Zurich’s reputation by keeping claims information confidential.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and staying current with industry trends.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more months of experience in the agricultural area.
  • Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be obtained within 180 days of hire date.
  • Reliable personal transportation and ability to travel within territory.
  • RCIS Crop Adjuster Physical Requirements: walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet, lift 25 lbs to 50 lbs, work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills.
