AGE Solutions is seeking an experienced BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) Telecom Design Engineer to support a campus-wide infrastructure refresh for a federal customer in the Washington, DC area. You will lead and oversee structured cabling design across a secure enterprise environment, ensuring installations meet BICSI standards and client requirements.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of relevant experience, strong leadership, and hands-on copper/fiber deployment

Qualifications

• Active BICSI RCDD certification.
• 8+ years of related working experience.
• Experience leading structured cabling or telecommunications projects in federal environments.
• Strong knowledge of BICSI standards and cabling practices.
• Hands-on copper and fiber installation, testing, and troubleshooting.

Responsabilités

• Lead design of structured cabling teams supporting campus-wide telecommunications infrastructure refresh.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise copper and fiber cabling across multiple facilities.
• Ensure work complies with BICSI standards, customer requirements, safety regulations, and best practices.
• Provide technical leadership for telecommunications infrastructure design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Oversee MDF/IDF buildouts, cable plant upgrades, rack elevations, patch panels, backbone connectivity, and pathways.
• Create telecom drawings, floor plans, cable schedules, labeling standards, and installation documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, PMs, subcontractors, and government stakeholders.
• Manage daily technician activities, timelines, material coordination, and QA.
• Conduct site surveys and recommend infrastructure improvements and modernization strategies.
• Support testing, certification, and troubleshooting of copper and fiber infrastructure.
• Maintain documentation, as-builts, inventory tracking, and project reporting.
• Assist with cutovers, migrations, and operational transitions.
