Job summary

The Adult Skills Center (TASC) in Frazier Park, CA is seeking dedicated staff to support individuals with developmental and mental health needs. You will implement curricula, support daily living and vocational skills, and collaborate with employers to expand community opportunities.

Role requires Basic computer skills, California driver’s license, and compliance with training and safety requirements. A strong, compassionate fit with a pioneering culture is valued.

Qualifications

• RBT preferred; 40 hour training completed and eligible to sit for the RBT exam.
• Experience with developmental disabilities and mental health diagnosis is desirable.
• Requires initiative, creativity and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills necessary.
• Must complete First Aid/CPR and Direct Support Professional Training and other required training.
• Must have current California driver’s license/insurance and clean DMV.
• Must receive criminal record clearance through the DOJ.
• Must complete Professional Crisis Management training within the first 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Works with 1 or 2 individuals in community settings to build vocational, social, and behavioral skills.
• Ensures program individuals are present and safe during instruction; monitors health and safety.
• Plans community outings and provides curriculum and plans to instructional aides.
• Exhibits a friendly demeanor and acts as a positive role model for work habits and communication.
• Supervises and supports individuals while learning and practicing skills at sites or in the community.
• Collaborates with employers and partners to meet expectations; takes corrective action when needed.
• Develops and teaches a comprehensive curriculum focused on Individual Service Plan (ISP).
• Assists and/or develops ISP with input; provides progress reports and required documentation.
• Collects data daily as per Support Plan.
• Use critical thinking to support challenging individuals and modify behaviors.
• Implements positive behavioral support programs and uses a person-centered approach.
• Handles maladaptive behaviors and uses crisis deescalation strategies.
• Attends meetings to discuss progress with support team.
