Job summary

Sysco Specialty Meat Group seeks a dedicated FSQA support specialist to audit raw materials and evaluate supplier conformity to specifications. You will submit and track claims, work with FSQA, merchandising and accounting to ensure payments, and help train staff on FSQA policies.

The role requires strong attention to detail, ability to interpret specifications, and effective communication in English within a food production setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; some post-high school education preferred.
• 1–3 years meat/seafood industry experience at a federal CFIA/FDA plant.
• Knowledge of meat, poultry and seafood products and specifications.
• Experience as QA/QC in meat/seafood processing is desirable.
• Ability to write reports and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Physically and visually assess quality attributes of raw materials against specifications.
• Submit claims to suppliers for products not meeting specifications.
• Follow up with suppliers on claims and ensure resolution.
• Work with FSQA, Merchandising and Accounting to ensure claims are paid.
• Assist in training FSQA programs, policies and procedures.
• Provide support for FSQA Technician activities and plant audits as needed.
