Job summary

Halperns' Steak & Seafood in Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Raw Material Handler (FT) to open and transport raw materials to the production line. The role operates Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with benefits following 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities include opening boxes, loading materials, feeding lines, and maintaining a clean work area while following safety protocols. English literacy and ability to work independently or in a team are required.

Responsibilities

• Open raw material boxes and move materials to the production area.
• Remove materials from packaging and prepare for production.

• Load chemical intervention cabinet and mechanical tenderizer (USDA only).
• Hand scale raw material (Seafood Only).
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and dispose of packaging.

Raw Material Handler FT.

Starting at: $16.50/hr

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm

Position Summary:

Responsible for opening raw material boxes and packages, delivering raw material to the production line.

Essential Functions:

• Opens boxes and moves raw materials into the production room.
• Removes raw materials from plastic packaging or container.
• Feeds raw material to various production lines.
• Loads chemical intervention cabinet and mechanical tenderizer (USDA department only).
• Hand scaling of raw material (Seafood Only).
• Maintains a clean, neat and safe work area, including disposal of packaging and cartons, sweeping, storage of extra material and clean up of supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Ability to follow directions, standard procedures and respond to instructions
• Ability to solve routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
• Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
• Must have ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
