Halperns' Steak & Seafood in Fort Lauderdale, FL is hiring a Receiver (Forklift Operator). Starting pay is $17/hr with a shift from 8:00am to finish. Job entails receiving, logging and issuing materials to stockroom or designated locations.

No prior experience required; forklift certification is obtained upon hire. Applicants must read/write English and can work independently or in a team. Safety and USDA/recall procedures apply in this position.

Responsabilidades

• Receive, log and issue materials to stockroom or designated location.
• Check goods against BOLs or PO numbers.
• Inspect for damage and expiration dates; identify histamine seafood items.
• Sort, count and verify received items; maintain records.
• Operate warehouse equipment to move goods and place in location.
• Identify damaged packaging or potential cross contamination.
• Perform returns and inventory control tasks as needed.

Receiver (Forklift Operator) Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Pay: Starting at $17/hr.

Schedule: 8:00am to Finish

Position Summary

Receives, logs and issue materials to stockroom, warehouse or designated location.

Essential Functions

• Checks goods received against bills of lading or purchase orders.
• Checks goods for damage and expiration dates.
• Identify and account for all histamine products (seafood only).
• Sorts, counts and checks received items.
• Maintains required clerical records.
• Operates warehouse equipment as needed to move goods to storage area and place in designated location.
• Identify damaged packaging and/or possible cross contaminated product.
• Perform returns.
• Maintain and rotate cooler and freezer (USDA only).
• Inventory control (USDA only).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.
• Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
• Ability to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV).

Equipment / Tools / Technology

• Must be able to understand the basic functions of a Radio Frequency handheld computer.
• Pallet jack, hand trucks
• Shrink wrap/stretch wrap equipment
• Box cutter
• Internet, email, and other applications
• Knowledge of WMS RF system of inventory
• Ability to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV)

Educational & Experience Requirements

• No previous experience needed.
• Forklift certification must be obtained upon hire and maintained during employment certification or license.
• High School / Equivalent preferred.
