Job summary

Moody's in the United States invites ambitious undergraduates to join our 10-week summer internship program. You will support software, data engineering, and AI initiatives while building practical technical skills and contributing to real-world projects.

During June–August 2027, you will collaborate with software engineers, product teams, and data scientists, learning new tools, gaining hands-on experience, and delivering outcomes that matter to Moody's clients and internal teams alike.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a STEM field.
• Anticipated graduation between Dec 2027 and Jun 2029.

Responsibilities

• Support software, data engineering, and AI initiatives while building practical technical skills.
• Support ongoing initiatives through data analysis, technical research, and project assignments that contribute to business outcomes.
• Participate in software and product configuration activities, including basic debugging, testing, and performance tuning under guidance of experienced engineers.
• Learn and apply new technologies, tools, and frameworks relevant to software development, data engineering, cloud computing, and AI.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate technical issues, document findings, and contribute to resolution of defects.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, process notes, and project updates.
• Participate in team meetings, technical discussions, learning sessions, code reviews, and other collaborative activities.

Skills And Competencies

• Passion and curiosity for learning and working with technologies such as Java, AngularJS, React, Python, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Claude, Codex, and Gemini
• Foundational understanding of high-performance computing, large language models, artificial intelligence, and data engineering concepts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate technical issues and develop solutions with guidance
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment, manage multiple assignments, and prioritize tasks effectively
• Ability to collaborate effectively with software engineers, product teams, and other cross-functional partners
• Familiarity with coding in Visual Studio Code or a JetBrains integrated development environment is preferred but not required
• Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use

Education

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related science, technology, engineering, or mathematics field
• Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029
• Ability to work full‑time during the complete internship program from June 7 through August 13, 2027

About The Program

Moody's 10-week summer internship program is a premier opportunity for students to immerse themselves in a hands‑on learning experience, guided by Moody's commitment to integrity, excellence, and insight. The program takes place each summer from June – August and positions are available for undergraduate and select graduate students. Internships are full‑time, offering a comprehensive view of Moody's business and culture, and a chance to build professional and technical skills. Programmatic elements include networking, mentorship, leadership speaker series and volunteering events. Interns complete project work determined by their team that have real impact, fostering a sense of accomplishment and professional growth.
