IDEXX Laboratories, Inc is seeking a Rare Reagent Process Engineer to optimize reagents and transfer processes during new product development. You will work across organic chemistry, biochemistry, bioprocess, and materials science to improve reagent performance, stability, and manufacturability.

You will lead DOE-driven experiments, support feasibility and verification activities, and collaborate with R&D and Operations to transfer processes into manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Engineering or related STEM field.
• Bachelor's with 8–10 years lab experience or Master's with 3–5 years.
• Experience with process development, technology transfer, validation, or manufacturing support.
• Knowledge of process optimization and scale-up from labs to production.
• Strong problem-solving, data analysis and practical solution skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for documentation and presentations.
• Familiarity with protein characterization techniques (SDS-PAGE, SEC, IEF).
• Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in one or more protein conjugation chemistries is desirable.
• Experience with mammalian biologics process development desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform experiments spanning organic chemistry, biochemistry, bioprocess, and material science to improve reagents and assay performance.
• Apply DOE to guide rigorously designed experiments.
• Contribute through product development lifecycle including feasibility, process development, verification and validation, and investigations.
• Collaborate with R&D and Operations from design to transfer of processes into manufacturing.
• Share process and reagent knowledge with downstream manufacturing teams.
