Job summary

Scholar Rock, a biopharmaceutical leader in myostatin biology, seeks a Rx Onboarding and Care Coordinator (ROCC) to educate and support SMA patients and families throughout their treatment journey. You will serve as a trusted advocate, bridge communication among patients, healthcare teams, and advocacy groups, and help uncover individual needs with tailored resources.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in pharmaceutical/biotech roles related to patient support, reimbursement, HUB/patient services or market access.
• Experience with rare disease, specialty/pharmacy processes, and provider/hospital workflows is required.
• Experience with complex patient-case management and navigating payer landscapes (government and private payers).

Responsibilities

• Act as primary contact for patients and caregivers, delivering clear, compassionate education on disease, therapy options, access pathways, and available support services.
• Oversee access coordination including affordability programs, benefit verifications, prior authorizations, and site-of-care logistics while ensuring timely therapy initiation.
• Provide hands-on logistical assistance and in-person support at treatment centers when needed.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Field Reimbursement, Advocacy, Marketing) to improve patient experience and address access challenges.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders to identify and address patient access challenges and ensure resources are available.
• Monitor payer landscapes and regulatory shifts to anticipate challenges and communicate updates to patients and teams.
• Build networks through advocacy groups and national conferences to support patient access.
• Maintain deep understanding of patient/community needs and regional access dynamics to tailor education and assistance.
• Adhere to HIPAA, FDA, and OIG guidelines and accurately record adverse events and product complaints.
