Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA seeks a Raptor Manufacturing Specialist (Maintenance) to support preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on production equipment. You will work with experienced specialists to keep critical systems running in a high-volume setting.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in maintenance within manufacturing, exposure to welding tools, ovens, vacuum systems, and a strong ability to read schematics and blueprints.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing, production, or technical environment.
• Experience with maintenance on industrial equipment, such as welding tools, ovens, vacuum systems, or environmental testing chambers.
• Familiarity with reading blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Own asset recovery processes from fault diagnosis to return-to-production release.
• Perform scheduled PM regimens and corrective repairs on manufacturing and test equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers, managers, and customers to maintain systems in peak operating condition.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems using root-cause analysis to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with asset owners to develop and maintain detailed PM work instructions.
• Maintain, calibrate, and inspect production assets including welding systems, high-pressure pumps, ovens, chambers, and other machinery.
• Demonstrate attention to detail with urgency and proactive learning of maintenance practices and new equipment technologies.
• Interpret schematics, P&IDs, and drawings to support fault isolation and repair activities.
• Safely operate power tools, hand tools, measuring instruments, and lifting devices per procedures.
• Coordinate and manage on-site vendor support, quotes, PO, and oversight of external services.
• Adhere to safety protocols (LOTO, confined space, hazardous energy) and maintain a clean work environment.
• Use internal systems for work orders, maintenance docs, and inventory tracking.
