Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, California is seeking a Propulsion Technician, Additive (Raptor) to support post-print processing for the Raptor engine. You will operate furnaces, weld in 1G TIG, run wire EDM and Instron tests, and inspect parts with laser scanning while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires hands-on experience with TIG welding, machinery maintenance, and the ability to train others.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years experience with hardware assembly/maintenance.
• 1+ years experience with TIG welding.
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain furnaces according to procedures.
• TIG weld in the 1G position to specifications.
• Set up, operate, and maintain wire EDM assets.
• Set up, operate, and maintain Instron asset (tensile testing).
• Set up, operate, and maintain Laser Scanning asset (dimensional inspection).
• Set up, operate, and maintain TIG welding asset.
• Fully support all production operations.
• Ensure safety and defect-free hardware; maintain workspace.
• Ensure quality and conformance to specs/engineering requirements.
• Develop and implement efficiency and safety improvements.
• Maintain consumable inventory and cycle counts.
• Independently verify and document results clearly.
• Provide training and cross-train in the department.
