Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Raptors Manufacturing Specialist (Maintenance) Level 4/5 to join a high-volume production environment in Hawthorne. You’ll support preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and collaboration with engineers to ensure peak asset performance.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of hands-on maintenance in manufacturing, with experience on industrial equipment and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• 5+ years hands-on maintenance in manufacturing/production/technical environment.
• Experience with maintenance on industrial equipment (welding tools, ovens, vacuum systems, environmental test chambers).
• Familiarity with reading blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Own asset recovery processes from fault diagnosis to return-to-production.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on manufacturing and test equipment.
• Collaborate with engineers, managers, and customers to keep systems in peak condition.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems.
• Develop and maintain detailed maintenance work instructions to prevent unplanned interruptions.
• Maintain and inspect critical production assets like welding systems, pumps, ovens, vacuum chambers.
• Show attention to detail with urgency and a hunger for learning advanced maintenance practices.
• Interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics to support fault isolation and repair.
• Safely operate tools and lifting devices per procedures.
• Coordinate on-site vendor support and manage quotes and POs for external services.
• Adhere to safety protocols (LOTO, confined spaces, hazardous energy) and maintain clean work area.
• Use internal systems for work orders, documentation, parts inventory, and history logging.
