Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking an experienced RN to join the Rapid Response Team. The role provides immediate bedside intervention and supports frontline staff to improve patient safety and outcomes.

Night shifts 7p-7a with some weekend requirements. Relevant ICU/ED experience is preferred, and the RRT RN will respond across units to deteriorating patients, contributing to hospital-wide safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience; ICU or ED experience preferred.
• Current Texas license or BNE Compact State license; BLS/ACLS; PALS and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs and accurately documents physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments.
• Anticipates patient and family needs and develops a care plan.
• Identifies and implements nursing interventions; documents them.
• Prioritizes care and reports changes in condition to team.
• Adheres to nursing policies and uses standard care frameworks.
• Provides education to patients and families; documents discharge plans.
• Welcomes and orients patient and family; sets daily goals with patient input.
• Core functions may include direct patient care and handling patient records.
