Job summary

Ochsner Health System in Kenner, LA seeks a Respiratory Therapist for night shifts with a sign-on bonus. You will provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for in-patients and out-patients spanning neonatal to geriatric ages.

Requirements include an Associate's degree, state RT license, NBRC RRT, BLS; ACLS and PALS must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree is required.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice is required.
• Certification by the NBRC as a Registered Respiratory Therapist is required.
• BLS is required; ACLS and PALS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced respiratory procedures per policy.
• Reviews and documents clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures and arterial blood gas analyses.
• Provides patient care appropriate to age and population served.
• Maintains compliance with safety, privacy, and regulatory standards.
