Job summary

Calvert County Government seeks an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide emergency medical care and hospital transport to 911 callers. Requires EMT, CPR, and EVOC certifications, plus ongoing compliance with state and county EMS protocols.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment, transport, documentation, and equipment maintenance. Eligible candidates must have a high school diploma, at least one year of EMT or related experience, and a valid Maryland EMT certification

Qualifications

High School degree.
One year of experience as an EMT or in related emergency response field.
Maryland EMT certification and CPR certification.
Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) certification.

Responsibilities

Responds to 911 calls and performs patient assessment, monitoring, and transport.
Provide emergency medical treatment and CPR per Maryland protocols.
Order supplies and equipment for the transport unit.
Inspect and maintain transport unit; sanitation and infection control.
Document calls, care provided, and patient outcomes.
Operate emergency vehicles according to policy and safety rules.
