Job summary

Berkeley County Government is seeking EMT/Advanced EMT personnel to provide urgent medical care in the field and transportation to facilities. Responsibilities include rapid assessment, airway management, CPR, and coordination with medical control.

Required certifications include SC EMT/Advanced EMT, National Registry where applicable, and AHA BLS. Some positions require 24/48 hour rotation and willingness to work in varied conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience in emergency medical services preferred.
• Ability to assess patient condition and implement appropriate care.
• Ability to operate and communicate via ambulance equipment.
• Ability to follow EMS protocols and coordinate with medical control.

Responsibilities

• Assess nature and extent of illness/injury and provide emergency care.
• Conduct primary and secondary patient assessments.
• Drive and operate emergency vehicles in a safe and timely manner.
• Document patient care and communicate with medical control and team.
