Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Must possess a valid California RN license.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get UCSD Code ART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Minimum three (3) years of recent inpatient, acute care adult ICU RN experience or equivalent.
• Strong leadership skills essential for directing Code Blue/RRTs in a complex hospital environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; empathic and kind to staff and patients.
• Experience with quality improvement and quality metrics projects; development of performance improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Respond to Code Blue, Rapid Response, Code Stroke and STEMI activations 24/7.
• Proactively round across units to monitor patient status and intervene.
• Monitor Code Blue and Rapid Response quality metrics; develop improvement projects.
• Practice autonomously within ANA standards; exercise independent judgment in interdisciplinary contexts.
