Hendricks Community Hospital in Minnesota is seeking an Emergency Medical Transport Technician to operate ambulances and transport patients to facilities. You will support ER staff, follow traffic protocols, and maintain equipment, with a rotating shift pattern including days/evenings/nights and weekends.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, CPR certification, and strong communication. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adaptability in emergency situations.

Qualifications

• High school degree preferred
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• CPR certification, Equipment and Driving Course required
• Must possess verbal and written communication skills to understand and interpret instructions, communicate with supervisor, medical and nursing staff, patients, and families
• Should be able to use common sense and be a fair judge of character
• Good leadership, initiative, and judgment skills
• Ability to respond to critical situations in a professional and competent manner

Responsabilités

• Safety operate emergency vehicles under various traffic conditions from scene to hospital
• Safely transport patients to hospitals or medical facilities
• Follow all traffic laws and driving protocols
• Navigate routes quickly and efficiently using maps or GPS
• Assist medical personnel with loading and unloading patients
• Ensure the ambulance is well-maintained and equipped
• Administer basic first aid when necessary
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and medical staff
• Know emergency care equipment locations in ambulance and ER
• Maintain ambulance during shift, including cleaning and stocking equipment
• Assist ER nursing personnel with ambulance patients
• Maintain positive relationships with non-hospital departments (law enforcement, fire, other ambulances)
• Support ER nurse and physician as directed by ER staff
• Pursue professional growth through meetings, trainings, and workshops
