Job summary

Eurofins Scientific in Des Moines, IA is seeking a dynamic leader to build and expand the Rapid Microbiology Business Unit. You will set strategy, drive growth, and create a high-performance team delivering exceptional client experiences.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in science, an MBA, 7+ years in laboratory roles with 3+ years in supervision, strong leadership, and fluent English. Responsibilities include improving laboratory and logistics efficiency, leading marketing and sales

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in science or related field.
• MBA preferred; 7+ years of laboratory experience with progressive responsibility.
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong technical and management background.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Develop the local strategy to grow the business.
• Improve operations efficiency at laboratories and logistics; optimize IT usage.
• Lead marketing and sales processes; maintain strong client relations.
• Ensure ISO/IEC 17025:2005 compliance and quality standards.
• Hire, motivate, develop and retain leaders and staff.
• Define goals and KPIs; monitor progress and intervene as needed.
• Prepare annual budget and 3-year plan; report deviations to shareholders.
• Develop and report on BU KPIs; participate in group projects as needed.
