Job summary

Vivent Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a Prevention Specialist to provide anonymous testing for HIV, HCV, syphilis, and other STIs, and to offer prevention education within a harm-reduction framework. You will engage priority populations such as gay/bisexual men, trans communities, and PWID, delivering counselling and referrals as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with HIV/AIDS, PrEP, and AODA issues is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience presenting to groups is beneficial.
• Travel within service area may be required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct confidential HIV, HCV, syphilis, and STI testing and counselling.
• Establish CTR sites for priority populations.
• Distribute education and safer sex materials and safer injection supplies.
• Provide referrals for internal and external services (PrEP, housing, employment).
• Perform outreach to bars, barber shops, and community venues.
• Plan and participate in community events (e.g., Pride Fest).
• Document services and report activities to supervisor biweekly.
• Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
