Job summary

IEM Readiness Corps offers on-call opportunities to deploy rapidly in support of national and community resilience. Corps members may work with government agencies and nonprofits to coordinate operations, planning, logistics, and field deployments, including leadership roles in Emergency Operations Centers.

Applicants should be prepared for 24–72 hour deployment readiness, able to work up to extended hours, and willing to travel across the United States.

Qualifications

  • Formal education requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of disaster response or emergency management experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., MS Office) is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate disaster preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery with federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Perform rapid needs assessments and manage resource logistics.
  • Oversee air operations and port-related tasks when deployed.
  • Support shelter operations and mass care during emergencies.
  • Provide technical augmentation and leadership within EOCs or field deployments.
  • Demonstrate adaptive leadership and contribute to after-action improvements.
  • Maintain clear communication and chain-of-command reporting.
