Job summary

National Emergency Management and Response is seeking reservists to support impacted communities and first responders on an as-needed basis. Reservists are not full-time employees and deployments are determined by mission needs, skills, and performance.

You must maintain Firefighter I and EMT certifications, be able to travel and deploy within 24–48 hours, complete required ICS courses, and stay ready for varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Firefighter I certification required; EMT certification/licensure in state of residence required.
• Minimum of one year experience as a firefighter.
• NREMT certification preferred; Firefighter II certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to the National EMR Policies and Procedures Manual, Uniform Handbook, and Operations Manual.
• Foster a culture that encourages safe work practices and reports safety concerns to the chain of command.
• Maintain active status within agency platforms and complete mandatory training.
• Perform clinic duties or provide medical support as directed by the mission assignment.
• Provide patient care according to certification level and medical protocols.
• Demonstrate professional communication and collaboration across teams and clients.
• Support incident management and disaster preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
