Job summary

Thompson Thrift is seeking an experienced Carpenter / Mechanical Technician to support construction, maintenance, and property improvement across a 1,000+ acre ranch. You will perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance to keep buildings and systems safe and efficient.

You’ll collaborate with property leadership and vendors to ensure projects run smoothly, maintain high craftsmanship standards, and prioritize safety on large rural properties.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in carpentry, construction, ranch or estate maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related skilled trade.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance work throughout ranch facilities and infrastructure.
• Build, repair, install, and maintain structures including barns, decks, gates, pergolas, retaining walls, flooring, and other wood construction.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment, plumbing systems, electrical components, lighting, pumps, irrigation systems, generators, HVAC equipment, and building utilities.
• Support renovation and property improvement projects by completing framing, finish carpentry, repairs, custom woodwork, and other construction-related tasks.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure building systems and equipment remain safe and operational.
