Job summary

Thompson Thrift is seeking a Ranch Laborer for a 1,000+ acre private ranch in Paris, IL. The role involves outdoor work, landscaping, and general property maintenance across a large property. You will handle materials, basic construction, and repairs as part of a hands-on team.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of related experience, and comfort using a range of tools and equipment to keep the ranch safe, organized, and well maintained.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of ranch/property maintenance or related hands-on work.
• Comfortable using tools and operating equipment on large properties.

Responsibilities

• Support the general upkeep, maintenance, and improvement of the ranch property and grounds.
• Assist with landscaping, tree/ debris removal, and land maintenance.
• Load, unload, lift, and move materials, supplies, tools, and equipment across the property.
• Clean and prepare work areas for maintenance, repair, and improvement projects.
• Assist with digging, filling, and other grounds and property tasks.
• Perform basic construction and repair tasks as assigned.
• Set up and take down ladders and scaffolding for projects.
• Operate tools and equipment including drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, lifts, and forklifts.
• Support equipment and machine-related tasks as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized, and functional work areas on the ranch.
• Take ownership of assigned projects and provide hands-on assistance.
