Wilks Brothers, LLC in Idaho near Cottonwood seeks a reliable Ranch Hand to support daily ranch operations. This hands-on role involves cattle care, routine herd work, and maintaining fences, equipment, and facilities on a rural property.

The position offers long-term growth toward a Ranch Manager role based on performance. Candidates should have ranching or cattle experience, be physically fit for outdoor work, and own a horse (board provided).

Qualifications

• Previous ranching or cattle experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.
• Working knowledge of livestock handling and basic animal health practices.
• Experience operating ranch equipment; mechanical tasks a plus.
• Candidates must provide their own horse(s); ranch provides boarding accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for livestock, with a primary focus on cattle, including feeding, watering, and monitoring overall health.
• Perform routine cattle work such as gathering, moving, sorting, branding, and medicating livestock.
• Assist with herd management activities, including seasonal work such as calving.
• Maintain and repair fences, gates, corrals, barns, and other ranch infrastructure.
• Operate ranch vehicles and equipment (e.g., trucks, tractors, ATVs) safely and efficiently.
• Observe and report signs of injury, illness, or distress in livestock.
• Perform general ranch upkeep, including grounds maintenance, facility repairs, and cleaning as needed.
• Follow all ranch safety protocols and operational procedures.
