Wilks Ranch Texas, Ltd. is seeking a reliable Ranch Hand to support daily ranch operations near Cottonwood, ID. The role involves hands-on cattle care, fencing and equipment maintenance, and outdoor duties in varying weather conditions.

The position offers long-term growth opportunities, including potential advancement to Ranch Manager based on performance and leadership. On-site housing and company vehicles are provided.

Qualifications

• Previous ranching, farming, or cattle experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.
• Working knowledge of livestock handling and basic animal health practices.
• Experience operating ranch equipment and performing basic mechanical tasks is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for livestock, with a primary focus on cattle, including feeding, watering, and monitoring overall health.
• Perform routine cattle work such as gathering, moving, sorting, branding, and medicating livestock.
• Assist with herd management activities, including seasonal work such as calving.
• Maintain and repair fences, gates, corrals, barns, and other ranch infrastructure.
• Operate ranch vehicles and equipment (e.g., trucks, tractors, ATVs) safely and efficiently.
• Observe and report signs of injury, illness, or distress in livestock.
• Perform general ranch upkeep, including grounds maintenance, facility repairs, and cleaning as needed.
• Follow all ranch safety protocols and operational procedures.
